Coaching Team

I am thrilled to return to the Marlins this year as the Head Coach.  The sport of competitive swimming has been part of my life for over 30 years.  I still continue to swim seasonally with the Columbus Sharks and I am an active USA Swimming official.  My favorite memories of swimming as a child include the time I spent on my local summer rec team.  While I was a fierce competitor in my club leagues, I loved the relaxed and fun atmosphere of my rec team and it was an opportunity to really enjoy the sport and to strengthen my friendships with my friends. I am committed to creating a fun and supportive environment for all of our swimmers.   I live in Bexley with my husband Gabriel and our three children.  When I am not at the pool, you can often find me in the garden or in the kitchen, as cooking is my other hobby and passion.

I am a student-athlete at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. I attended St. Charles Preparatory in Columbus, OH where I played water polo and swam for the varsity team and earned All-Ohio and All- America honors. At Emory, I major in Neuroscience and swim for the varsity team, for which I placed 10th at the Division III National Championships. A swimmer since age 7, I thoroughly enjoy all aspects of swimming and am knowledgeable about many advanced techniques and race strategies. In my free time, I play ultimate frisbee and compete for the Ohio State Swim Club. I live in Columbus with my 3 siblings and my parents. I think it’s very beneficial to learn competitive swimming while also having fun and enjoying the sport as I have all my life. I’m very excited to work with swimmers of all levels, so I can take my passion for swimming and share it with the Bexley Marlins.

My name is Libby Stadler, and I am so excited to work with you and your kids this summer!  I am a Sign Language interpreting student at Columbus State Community College.  This will be my second year with the Marlins.  I swam for twelve years as a child, have been teaching swim lessons since I was 12 years old, and am a USA Swimming certified coach.  Along with the Marlins, I have coached with Westerville South High School, New Albany Aquatic Club, and Unified Aquatic Club.  I am very excited to work with your kids this summer!

I have coached for the Bexley Marlins for two years and couldn’t be more excited for a third! I’m very familiar with the excitement and competition that comes with swimming, as this year will mark my 12th year of competitive competition swimming.  I’ve always wanted to be around water in any shape or form. It began with summer swim team at age five and developed to where I currently am today. I love being able to have the opportunity to play water polo, lifeguard, and teach swim lessons throughout my high school career.  I have completed all of elementary school at Montrose, middle at Bexley and just ended my junior year at Bexley High as well. After moving here at age four, I can whole-heartedly say that Bexley is a beautiful city that I’m proud to call home. I’m equally proud to say that I will be coaching such an amazing swim team again this summer. I look forward to the Marlin’s new chapter of swimming and fun!

Hey everyone! I’ve been a coach for two years and am excited to be here for my third year. Having coached both 5&6 and 7&8, I am confident this year will be fun and rewarding. I started swimming at age 8 for the Marlins, and then swam for a club team until my freshman year, then swimming for Bexley High School all four years. I have recently graduated from Bexley High School, and plan to attend Miami University. At Miami, I will be majoring in Political Science and Pre-Law. I am so excited to work with everyone this summer. Go Marlins!

I’m Gavin, a sophomore / rising junior at Bexley High School and a  junior coach for the 7-8 year-olds. I started swimming as a little kid taking swim lessons at the Bexley Pool. I’ve swum with the Marlins for a few years, as well as the Bexley High School swim team, the Greater Columbus Swim Team, and Unified. I’m also a lifeguard and swim instructor at the JCC. I have a love-hate relationship with the 200 IM. I’m excited to get your kids excited about swimming and see the amazing things they’ll do this season!
